As we commemorate our 20th anniversary, A Little Help reflects on two decades of strengthening intergenerational connections and supporting older adults in our community. Our journey began in 2005 as Washington Park Cares, evolving into a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 2008. Since then, we've expanded our reach across Metro Denver, Northern Colorado, and the Western Slope, enabling thousands of older adults to age safely and with dignity in their homes.

Today, we support older adults in both urban and rural communities across Colorado, creating meaningful connections and reducing isolation through grassroots engagement. As our reach has expanded, so has our ability to respond to community needs, growing from a handful of volunteers to a vast network of neighbors helping neighbors.

We are proud to have a growing network of 5,000+ volunteers who dedicate their time and compassion to supporting more than 3,000 older adults across the state. These efforts create powerful intergenerational connections, with volunteers ranging in age from 4 to over 100, proving that kindness truly spans generations.

From hands-on initiatives like Service Saturday and Ditch the Desk, which mobilize groups for seasonal yard work and care kit deliveries, to virtual connection-building efforts like Little Talks and Diverse Discussions, we’re creating meaningful engagement across generations and geographies. These varied programs allow us to reach more people, in more ways, while deepening our impact and expanding our mission across Colorado.
